Also called the Grey Elves, they were made up of a large portion of the Telerin Elves, which remained in Beleriand searching after their lost king. There they dwelt with and fought alongside the Noldor in the great Wars of Beleriand, after which they dispersed into the forests of the world, ruling remnant kingdoms of the rustic Silvan Elves, before retreating into the West, where all Elves eventually came in their end.
They are known as the Grey Elves of starlit Beleriand, for before the return of the renegade Noldor and the Enemy from the West they dwelt in the twilit forests there, gaining much knowledge. They were accounted the fairest and most wise of the Dark Elves who never completed the great march.
